ウエストなどの距離が短い場合に、時々使う方法です。
①ステッチに穴をあけてゴム通しの口を作り、ステッチでその穴をふさぐ
②わきの縫い目などに、ゴムの通し口をあらかじめ作っておき、ステッチは全部通して縫い、ゴムはゴム口から入れる
この二つの方法から選択するのが一般的ですが
ゴムの通す距離が短い場合や、ゴムを引っ張り出す余裕がないような小さいもののときに
ゴムを返し縫いで止める時に、引っ張りすぎて傷むのが懸念されるときなどに一発でステッチをかけながらゴムを通す方法で縫うことがあります。
動画でも説明していますが、ゴムを入れながら縫うのは神経をあちこちに配りつつ縫うため、難度が高くなること、スピードがあまり上げられないなどありまして
大人の服などで距離が長い場合は、ゴムなどに神経を使わずステッチを真っすぐかけることだけに専念した方が出来上がりが良くなります。
ゴムを奥に入れて、１センチの完全三つ巻きでステッチをかけていきます。
ゴムは途中で平らな部分がなくなるので、引っ張り出して後方に布をシワシワさせ、前は平らになるようにして縫い進めます。
